Privacy policy

Keeper is built around a local-first product promise. This page explains what data is and is not collected when you use the website and contact support.

Photo data

Keeper is designed so your photos remain on your Mac. The product positioning on this website reflects that files are not uploaded for cloud processing as part of the core culling workflow.

Website analytics

The website uses Umami analytics to understand visits, traffic sources, and on-site engagement. This includes aggregated page views and custom events such as download clicks, pricing section views, and scroll depth.

The site also uses Hotjar to collect behavior signals such as heatmaps, session recordings, and interaction patterns so the landing page can be improved. The site does not use these analytics tools to collect your photo files.

App analytics

Keeper uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand pseudonymous product usage, such as project creation, culling workflow progress, exports, and feature adoption. This includes a Firebase app-instance identifier plus standard app and device metadata such as app version, macOS version, and device type. Keeper does not set a custom user ID.

We do not send your photos, filenames, folder paths, photo metadata, license keys, purchase identifiers, or feedback email contents to app analytics. Product feedback is only shared when you choose to email us.

Support requests

If you contact Keeper by email, the information you send is used only to respond to your question, troubleshoot issues, or follow up on your request.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the product and website evolve. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
